Scholarships and Financial Aid

Since 1943, the Darr College of Agriculture has been awarding students academic scholarships during its annual fall banquet. Each year, through the generous support of our donors, we award around 100 students with approximately $100,000 in scholarships. These gifts are awarded to both undergrad and graduate students pursuing an agriculture-related degree here at MSU. These scholarships are designed to support their studies and award excellence in both the community and the classroom.

For admitted students to qualify for these and other University scholarships, the student must complete the MSU Annual Scholarship application by March 1. Some scholarships consider financial need, thus requiring the student to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1.

Additional University scholarships

You may also qualify for additional University-wide scholarships or financial aid. The office of student financial aid provides information about University scholarships, grants and loans.

Graduate assistantships

Some graduate assistantship positions are available within the College of Agriculture at both the Springfield campus and Fruit Experiment Station at Mountain Grove. Most positions at Mountain Grove are strictly research related, while graduate assistants on the Springfield campus may help conduct research and assist professors in lab and lecture courses. For more information about graduate assistantships offered in the College of Agriculture, contact the office at 417-836-5638. A complete listing of offices and departments that have graduate assistant positions is available through the Graduate College.
